Technical and Application Support
As one of the oldest and most successful suppliers to the flexographic industry, we have a vast wealth of knowledge and experience, covering technical, application and commercial aspects of all production processes.
Support is just a telephone call away, while practical on-site assistance can normally be arranged within 24 hours. In addition, details of specific products and replies to frequently asked technical questions are available from our web site.
Our technical support services also include areas as diverse as press fingerprinting, systems installation and commissioning, plus on and off-site product and systems training.
Press Fingerprinting (UK Customers)
We offer a Press Fingerprinting service to all of our existing customers regardless of their consumable spends as well as our Trade Repro House customers.
The process involves the customer printing a set of Fingerprinting plates from a pre designed test form. From the printing result we measure for density, contrast and dot gain in order to give the studio the press characteristics to make the corrections to the repro for the printing presses dot gain.
Once this is established a further test form can be printed to check that the corrections are okay. The results of this can then be scanned into a piece of software known as "Star Proof", once this has happened, a Ripped file from plate making can be sent via Star Proof to an Epson Inkjet printer to produce a press predictable dot proof that now matches the press.
An important point to note is that Fingerprint will only be successful if the press parameters on the day are adhered to for printed jobs, i.e. use the same Plates, Tape, and Ink and ensure the Anilo's are clean and well maintained; all of these areas can be dealt with by products in the Pomeroy Plastotype range and wel also carry out pre-press analysis to ensure optimum plate making conditions are adhered to.
Recycling
For large volume users of solvents we can supply, install and commission complete solvent recovery systems. For other customers we offer a cost-effective off-site reprocessing service.
Carried out at our Customer Service Centre in Gloucestershire. This service includes collection of used solvents, plus distillation and sale of reprocessed materials. The entire process is quality controlled and reprocessed chemicals are guaranteed to meet agreed standards for strength and purity.
Tape Slitting (giving you value for money)
We have always been renowned for our range of mounting tapes. This range has now been extended further with the establishment of an in-house tape slitting and converting facility.
This enables us to purchase bulk stocks, thereby passing on cost savings to our customers, and to offer bespoke widths and reel lengths, allowing you to minimise waste, handling and cost.
Bespoke sizes are available through our normal and fast-track ordering procedure.
Foundry - Specialised plate making facilities
Our platemaking foundry was originally set up in 1947 at our Customer Service Centre in London. Today, the foundry is run from our Head Office in Gloucestershire and still produces specialised plastic and rubber stereos, for applications ranging from point of sale material to greeting cards and bingo tickets, and has recently installed equipment to help our customers make the transition from rubber to photopolymer.
Customers include small trade houses, that require an external service for particular types of plate, and large organisations that have an occasional need to outsource production during busy periods.
In every case, we offer a fast turnaround, an exceptional standard of quality and an unrivalled level of technical knowledge.
