How to Upgrade:

 

vipFLEX instruments can be upgraded to vipFLEX2 if sent in prior to December 31, 2008.

Please 'Contact Us' to request a full pricing schedule and / or to arrange your upgrade.

Once complete, you will receive an upgraded and recertified instrument including the new camera, together with a new vipFLEX2 Target and the PlateQuality Flexo software update.

While upgrades will no longer be possible after December 31, 2008, you will still be able to trade in older devices for vipFLEX2.

Announcing the new X-Rite vipFLEX2.

Equipped with enhanced camera technology, the vipFLEX2 offers the following benefits in comparison with the vipFLEX:

  • Higher accuracy, due to the higher resolution camera and its larger aperture.
  • Easier installation as a result of the new camera driver. In vipFLEX2, manual adjustments of the camera settings are no longer required. The new hardware's camera chip is configured directly by PlateQuality Flexo software.

The vipFLEX device, did not allow adjustments to the camera to be made directly from the PlateQuality Flexo software. Often leading to incorrect camera settings which caused problems (flickering of frames/second, etc) upon launch of the software. The operator then had to manually adjust the settings by opening the Video Source menu window.

  • Ease-of-use with improved brightness settings.

The vipFLEX2 looks the same as, and fully replaces the vipFLEX. There is no price change.

New PlateQuality Flexo Software
 

Together with vipFLEX2, X-Rite are introducing PlateQuality Flexo software version 1.3.1. The new software includes the following enhancements:

  • Support of the new vipFLEX2 camera.
  • Screen rulings can be edited directly.
  • Most recently used plate type is re-loaded after a re-launch of the program.

vipFLEX2 will ship with the new software version. vipFLEX can also be used with the new software. The new software will be available for download from the vipFLEX product section of the X-Rite website www.xrite.com upon availability of vipFLEX2.
