Dual-Air-Technology blankets consist of two fabric layers (woven to a thinner thickness than competing blankets), combined with two sophisticated compressible layers. The fabric layers ensure the blankets rigidity, while the two compressible layers absorb any impact (and excess pressure) asserted against the blankets rubber surface, thus allowing the rubber top face to ‘bounce back’ (recover) to its original state quickly and reduce gauge loss. The first compressible layer provides for optimum fine printing and reproduction, while the second compressible layer is there to reduce visible pressure lines and provides exceptional smash recovery, resulting in extended press life. As a result of the blankets impact absorption capabilities, Dual-Air- Technology blankets will dramatically reduce (if not eradicate) pressure marks (streaks). ‘Dual-Air Technology’ Printing Blankets in the IMC range: ‘Dura-Elastic Technology’: ‘Dura-Elastic Technology’ is a heat dissipating feature which is built into the IMC Perfect Dot® DURO (and Perfect Dot® QR) blankets. ‘Dura-Elastic Technology’ involves the use of a special micro-sphere in the compressible layer to ensure low heat build-up. ‘Dura-Elastic Technology’ blankets are ideal for printing on coated and LWC stock on high-speed presses. The added benefit is that ‘Dura-Elastic’ also finds a place in high- speed sheetfed printing, where heat build-up is an issue.
